Membership and licensing requirements for Pastoral Psychotherapists. (Mhp 303.01)

Licensure shall have completed one of the following sets of requirements

Concentration in Theological Studies 

licensure by Concentration in Theological Studies shall: 

Have met the standards as defined by RSA 330-A:17 or have met the standards as defined by New Hampshire Pastoral Psychotherapists Association; 

Hold the following degrees: 

A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university; 

A Master of Divinity degree from a school of theology accredited by the American Association of Theological Schools or have met the theological body of knowledge as defined by the New Hampshire Pastoral Psychotherapists Association; and a doctoral degree in pastoral psychotherapy or psychology and clinical studies based on a program the content of which was primarily psychology, pastoral counseling or psychotherapy and clinical studies, or its equivalent in both subject matter and extent of training; and 

Hold active membership in a denomination or faith group through ordination, consecration, endorsement or equivalent means to exercise specific religious leadership and services within and on behalf of the denomination or faith group. 

Maintain active membership in the New Hampshire Pastoral Psychotherapists Association. 

licensure by Multidisciplinary Concentration

All applicants for licensure by Multidisciplinary Concentration shall: 

1. Hold a current active license recognized by the NH Board of Mental Health Practice or NH Board of Psychologists; 

2. Complete the course of study as defined as “Multidisciplinary Core Body of Knowledge” by RSA 303.02-13

3. Maintain active membership in the New Hampshire Pastoral Psychotherapists Association.
